Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is a tall, evergreen tree with peeling bark.  It is one of the most widely cultivated trees native to Australia. Eucalyptus has a strong, fresh, herbaceous scent with woody undertones. The essential oil is best known for its use as a decongestant. The aroma of this essential oil clears the sinuses and reputedly thins mucus and acts as an expectorant.
